ABOUT Sophie Williams
Sophie Williams is a compassionate Mental Health Counselor who believes therapy should feel like a real conversation. She creates a space where clients can show up as they are and feel genuinely heard without pressure to have everything figured out. Whether someone comes in needing a place to vent about their week or wanting to work toward something more specific, Sophie meets them where they are. She brings warmth, curiosity, and humor into the room, creating an environment where clients can laugh, cry, and everything in between.
Sophie takes a relational approach to therapy, where the connection between therapist and client is the most important part of the work. She prioritizes building a strong sense of safety and trust, knowing that meaningful change happens when clients feel comfortable enough to be fully themselves. She also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when helpful, integrating skills in a way that feels natural and collaborative rather than rigid and overly structured.
She earned her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Baruch College and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. Sophie has extensive experience working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns, and also supports clients navigating anxiety, OCD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Above all, she tailors her approach to each individual, supporting growth in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
