ABOUT Abigail Ridgeway
Abby Ridgeway is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who appreciates the complexities of the Individuals and Families that she works with. Her clinical practice is comprised of compassion, curiosity, and an understanding of the systems that individuals engage with. Abby prioritizes collaboration with all her clients to create a unique therapeutic space that is tailored specifically to their needs and comfort levels. She views her clients as multidimensional, having identities that intersect at individual, interpersonal and community levels. Abby believes that community can be healing, and encourages the expansion of thought into the areas of interpersonal and community relationships—always to the comfort of each client.
As an integrative clinician, Abby enjoys incorporating relational, systemic, and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches into her practice, such as Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She often pairs these approaches with mindfulness techniques stemming from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Horticultural Therapy (HT). She has experience working with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Parenting, Phobias, Intimate Partner and Family Violence, Chronic Illness, Identity Exploration, Grief & Bereavement, and Climate/Eco-Anxiety.
Abby’s approach has been described as engaged, holistic, and intuitive, as she assists her clients with self-understanding, making positive life changes, and feeling comfortable with sharing their inner worlds.
