ABOUT Ariana Goswick
With over 15 years of experience, Ariana Goswick, LMHC, LPC is a highly-skilled therapist, drawing from perspectives and techniques informed by Polyvagal Theory, the Adaptive Information Processing Model (AIP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Somatic Experiencing (SE). She approaches the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to life’s challenges as a blueprint for healing and seeks to educate clients on the central role the nervous system and neuroplasticity play in thoughts, emotions, actions and change.
Ariana’s style is rooted in empathy and wisdom, and when deemed appropriate, she encourages clients to “roll up their sleeves” and build new neural pathways that facilitate decision-making from a place of: “What do I need/not need?” rather than “What do I want/not want?” She views the severity of suffering as directly proportional to one’s tenacity, gifts, and impact they are meant to have on the world. Once insight is formed, her work focuses on helping individuals transition from a “pain identity” to that of authentic self by shifting from reliance on external validation to sourcing from self.
Individuals who thrive under Ariana’s care are often curious about their patterns and the possibility for change. They typically grapple with self-doubt, guilt, remorse, anger, fear, apathy, lack of motivation, caretaking at the expense of self, unkind thoughts about self, and the inability to connect to joy. At the core of these experiences lies a conscious or subconscious drive to find clarity of purpose.
Ariana has worked in a variety of settings, from community mental health clinics and centers to residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment programs. Beyond her clinical expertise, she believes in the power of human connection and the transformative nature of the therapeutic relationship. Ariana recognizes the privilege and honor that comes with clients placing their trust in her. She reminds them that they hold the keys to their healing and purpose, and that her role is a guide for them to discover the answers on their own.
